Ballet Hispánico Appoints Veronica Villalpando as Director of Marketing and Communications

Tom O’Connor Consulting Group (TOCG) is pleased to announce that Veronica Villalpando (she/her) has been appointed Director of Marketing and Communications by Ballet Hispánico (Patrick Muhlen, Chief Managing Director; Eduardo Vilaro, Artistic Director and CEO) in New York City, New York, following our extensive national search.

Veronica Villalpando is a senior executive and consultant for major brands and nonprofits in the U.S. She has served as the Marketing lead for Eos Orchestra and Understood.org. Prior to joining Ballet Hispánico, she held leadership positions at global marketing agencies including Ogilvy, Grey, and McCann. She has an extensive background as a brand builder and senior advisor in the consumer goods, sports, tech, and nonprofit sector, leading teams in marketing, social media, and communications. Past clients include Nestlé, Procter & Gamble, Unilever, NFL, Verizon, Dove, and Macy's. Veronica holds a Bachelor of Arts, with a major in Marketing and a minor in Art History, from the Pan-American University, Mexico City. She lives on the Upper West Side with her daughter, Sophia, and loves donating her time to the Taproot Foundation, making good use of her local public library, and trying new ways of cooking her family's traditional Mexican recipes.

“I’m incredibly honored to join this vibrant organization,” says Veronica. “It brings me an immense sense of pride to help build the Ballet Hispánico brand, further the organization’s mission, and serve as a catalyst that brings new audiences to experience the depth of our culture and who we are today as Latinx/a/e/o Americans.”

“We are overjoyed to welcome Veronica to the Ballet Hispánico family,” says Patrick Muhlen, Chief Managing Director. “Her background in global marketing, combined with her vast arts experience, will be invaluable as we continue to grow this invaluable institution together.”

"We're thrilled that Ballet Hispánico has found their next Director of Marketing and Communications in Veronica Villalpando", says TOCG Search Consultant Brenna Thomas, who co-led the search with President Tom O'Connor. "While we met with an extensive number of talented candidates in the process of this search, Veronica's energy and enthusiasm for the mission and work of Ballet Hispánico was clear from the start. Her mixture of experience in the nonprofit and corporate sectors will allow her to incorporate a wide variety of skills into the work she will do for this remarkable organization. We are truly excited for Eduardo and Patrick to have this newest team member and thought partner."
