Boston Court Pasadena Appoints Manuel Prieto as Executive Director

Tom O’Connor Consulting Group (TOCG) is pleased to announce that Manuel Prieto (he/him) has been appointed Executive Director by Boston Court Pasadena (Jessica Kubzansky, Artistic Director) in Pasadena, California, following our extensive national search.

As shared in a release from the company, Manny Prieto was most recently the Director of Education at Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills. He previously served as Executive Director of Los Angeles Music and Art School (LAMusArt) from 2015-2022 where he programmed and produced multidisciplinary performances for diverse and new audiences, launched the Young Professionals Board (comprised of millennials interested in philanthropy), led the development of two five-year strategic plans and more than doubled the budget to $1,500,000 annually. Prieto holds a Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Management from Antioch University and BFA in Theater Design from the University of Southern California.

“I am humbled and inspired to serve as Boston Court’s new Executive Director,” noted Prieto, in the statement. “A long-time admirer of BC, I am tremendously excited for the opportunity to lead an organization that holds a torch for artistic audacity, and I’m delighted to work in tandem with Jessica, who has been committed to the organization since its inception. I look forward to working with the board, committed staff and team of artists to bring the community of Pasadena and beyond bold and necessary work. As the organization celebrates its 20th anniversary, we’re excited to both honor our history and continue to innovate.”

“I could not be more thrilled to work with Manny, whose advocacy and creative strategic thinking I so admire. I am delighted by the opportunity to dream the organization forward together,” said Jessica Kubzansky.

“It was such a pleasure to work with the board and staff at Boston Court on this search, to help find a partner for the brilliant Jessica Kubzansky in leading the organization,” said Cynthia Fuhrman, TOCG VP for Executive Search. “Manny is arriving at a time when BCP has a clear vision for the coming years, and it was a joy to find someone so attuned to the greater L.A. arts and theater community, who can jump right in and support realizing that vision. I can’t wait to watch what they accomplish!”

About Boston Court Pasadena
Boston Court Pasadena opened its doors in 2003 after philanthropist Z. Clark Branson decided to give back to the Pasadena community that fostered his love of the arts from a young age. Branson built a state-of-the-art facility that includes a 99-seat Main Stage and a 70-seat flexible space. A non-profit entity was created and charged with maintaining the facility as well as programming and funding its operations. In an average pre-Covid year, Boston Court produced a season of more than 100 exciting performances in theatre and music, including an Emerging Artists Series and a New Play Reading Festival. It also showcases rotating visual art exhibits that complement the themes generated by the music and theatre programming.
