DC Arts and Humanities Education Collaborative Appoints Alorie Clark as Executive Director

Tom O’Connor Consulting Group (TOCG) is pleased to announce that Alorie Clark (she/her) has been appointed Executive Director of DC Arts and Humanities Education Collaborative following our extensive national search led by Edie Demas.

Alorie Clark joins the Collaborative following her most recent role as Arts Learning Coordinator at the DC Commission for the Arts and Humanities. Alorie brings a proven dedication to advancing equitable access to arts and humanities education as a critical component of every student’s K-12 education.  Alorie’s experience spans many local organizations, including Step Afrika!, National Arts Strategies, and the Washington National Opera. Barbara Stauffer, Board Chair, shared “we conducted an extensive search and Alorie stood out in a field of extremely accomplished candidates. Her expertise in arts management, as well as her extensive experience with the local arts and education communities make her the ideal person to realize the full potential of the DC Arts and Humanities Education Collaborative’s mission to provide DC students with equitable access to the arts. We are delighted to have found someone of Alorie’s caliber to lead the organization in the years ahead.”

About the DC Arts and Humanities Education Collaborative

The DC Arts and Humanities Education Collaborative is a member service organization founded in 1998 by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and Humanities Council of Washington DC along with DC Public Schools and other local cultural institutions and funders. Today, members represent 120 cultural institutions and individual practitioners  in the DC region, working together to advance equitable access to arts and humanities education in the District of Columbia.

The DC Collaborative has served more than 750,000 students  in the DC public education system (traditional and public charter) in all eight wards of the District through its Education Programs, including its legacy experiential learning program Arts and Humanities for Every Student, the Distance Learning Resource Database, as well as thousands of educators through its Professional Development initiatives.
