United Arts of Central Florida Appoints Marisa Worley as Senior Director of Development

Tom O’Connor Consulting Group (TOCG) is pleased to announce that Marisa Worley (she/her) has been appointed Senior Director of Development by United Arts of Central Florida (Jennifer Evins, President and CEO) in Orlando, Florida following our extensive national search.

United Arts of Central Florida (United Arts) welcomed Marisa Worley as its new Senior Director of Development on January 15. Worley has extensive expertise in the local nonprofit sector and more than 20 years of experience holding multiple leadership roles in Central Florida. “We are incredibly excited to have Marisa join the team,” said Jennifer Evins, President and CEO of United Arts. “Donor cultivation and fundraising has never been more important to the growth of our local arts and cultural sector. As the region’s local arts agency, we are looking forward to the decades of experience she will bring to our community.”

The Senior Director of Development is a new position that will design and implement a comprehensive development and fundraising plan that aligns with investments in the mission of United Arts as well as strengthening the Collaborative Campaign for the Arts, which benefits over 30 local nonprofit organizations. "I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the United Arts team,” said Worley. “The arts have always been a passion of mine and I can't wait to help make a big impact in our community." TOCG Search Consultant Brenna Thomas, who led the search in consultation with President Tom O’Connor and Vice President Edie Demas, noted “Marisa not only has a wide range of leadership, fundraising, and communications experience to draw on for this role, but she is also an enthusiastic advocate for arts organizations and their constituents in Central Florida. We know that she will be a fantastic addition to the United Arts team.”  

After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Rollins College, Worley began her career in the nonprofit sector as public relations manager for Florida Theatrical Association, where she helped raise the profile of national touring Broadway shows in the Orlando market. Worley’s career also featured several years with the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce and Massey Communications (now Moxe), developing her skills in community relations and media relations. While she most recently served as the Executive Director of Edible Education Experience, managing operations, fundraising, and business development; she is also recognized for her role as director of development and marketing at A Gift For Teaching, where she grew the organization’s resources, communications efforts, events, and campaigns.
